@Alice <3 My lawyer advised me not to change my name until everything is done. I think they will send it with her unmarrried name unless you are able to notify them and they actually change it properly in the system. I am very sorry this happened to you.

@Kingsley B i didn't know you could file with the married name you wanted ... I thought we couldn't change until she had an SSN :(

@Kingsley B we have her EAD card with her married name but her uscis profile still has maiden name

@Alice <3 Hi, yes you could have filed with the legal name change. But it would have needed to be done prior to filing and then you would have told them on the 485 I believe that she had a maiden name. I would contact USCIS and let them know. I really hope they change it for you properly and do not give you a hard time or make errors. There is so much with them and my filing that I wish I had known.

@Alice <3 I would either chat with a live agent or call. I called last week and the lady was very nice and helpful. I have found the live agents to not be very helpful. If you call, say infopass and you will get a real person. I cannot recall the moment you say infopass. You will need your receipt notice number. Please let me know if you are able to change it. 800-375-5283 (the number I called).
