change of address / change of venue for interview
Hi everyone!! I moved from Dallas to California, but the lawyer that I was using initially lives in Florida. Now I have a new lawyer working on my case in California. My Vawa was approved in 2023, but my I- 485 was closed because USCIS did not have jurisdiction over my case and I had a master hearing with the court. long story short I got my case dismissed out of the court and USCIS reopened my I-485. the issue I am having now is that all of my receipts and letters are going to my old lawyer even thou my new lawyer put in the paperwork to show that she is my new lawyer and also to change my address. now I have an interview for my I- 485 in Florida and I have never lived in Florida. what do you guys think I should do ????

If you want your green card so fast, go to Florida and have your interview and give them your new address right at the interview that’s what my friend did and they mailed her the card

both of my lawyers are saying to change the address, so they can schedule it the right place. my new lawyer said that she had a case similar where she went to an interview with a client to a different location from where she currently live and the officer told them to reschedule it to where the client currently live. @Abi Ken

To avoid delays I suggest you just fly to Florida and do your interview. You've come this far...you don't got this but you can adjust and cope with the current circumstances. Best of luck.

Yo go to fucking Florida and get your green card rather than redirecting to California which could take many months or year again. I had a friend who live in Dallas and was interviewed in NY. Guess what, she got her green card 5 minute after walking into the building. The world is yours and good luck.
