change employer
Hey guys,
Does anyone here have experience in changing employers? My I140 approval is from 2/2023; I worked with my employer for 1.5 years and got EAD for five years and got the interview 8/2023. My PD 11/2020 is coming up, but I decided to switch to a new employer. I will have a meeting with my attorney tomorrow. Does anyone share some thoughts?

my pd 2 nov 2020 and my husband worked with the employer from September 2022 , we decided not changing employer until we got the green card, but you are ok to change the employer but you have to file I 485 J .

Hey hey... do not listen to the bad advise above... it's a clown advise
Yes... you can switch employer... get your new employer to fill out your I485J BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUBMIT!
KEEP IT... YOU ONLY HAVE TO PRESENT IT IF YOU ARE CALLED FOR AN INTERVIEW
DO NOT MAKE A CLOWNISH MOVE AND ELONGATE YOUR PROCESSING TIME
RULE NUMBER 1 WHEN IT COMES TO USCIS... DO NOT SEND WHAT YOU ARE NOT ASKED!

thanks, I got the interview 8/2023. It is a good advice. we can keep i485j just in case USICS request it right? @USCIS IS A MESS

you need to send the 485 j
if you send it and you have been having they gonna ask you why you didn’t want to send

@tom tran keep the I485J until you receive the RFE which ask for I485J, or in interview, if the officer ask for it, show to them.
Don’t submit it, that what my lawyer recommended

@tom tran I switched jobs recently. I worked for my sponsor for almost 2 years, and I moved to another job same field last month, I didn’t submit the i485J, I’ll do it only if they send me an RFE

@tom tran
This is my last dime on this topic
Do not listen to any imbecilic advise telling you to send your I485J
FILE YOUR I485J AND KEEP IT SAFE... YOU HAVE HAD YOUR INTERVIEW ALREADY... USCIS HAS NO REASON TO CALL YOU BACK OR ASK ABOUT YOUR EMPLOYER
ANYONE TELLING YOU OTHERWISE IS YOUR ENEMY
EXCEPT YOU WANT TO ELONGATE YOUR PROCESSING
THERE ARE MANY HERE WHOSE PD IS CURRENT YET USCIS WON'T ATTEND TO THEM
AGAIN! RULE NUMBER ONE WHEN DEALING WITH USCIS
DO NOT ANSWER A QUESTION YOU WERE NOT ASKED... DO NOT SEND A DOCUMENT THEY NEVER ASKED
