Certificate of Good Conduct/ Police Clearance Certificate
Hey everyone! My husband finally received his interview letter from Djibouti after a long wait of 12 months.
My lawyer informed me that having a police clearance or a good conduct certificate is not mandatory for his appointment. she explained that Yemen certificates are not considered reliable. However, when I searched online, I found that a police clearance is required and doesn’t expire until two years if he hasn’t left the country. He already obtained a police clearance certificate over a year ago, but I’ve heard reports of people being informed during their interview that the certificate can’t be older than six months.
Does anyone have any insights or information on this matter?

@Fatima A If USCIS didn’t ask you for it don’t hand it in. If they do, then give it to them. now the question will be brought up, so have that document handy. be prepared to explain the situation and where the certificate came from and who signed it.

@Jesus is King Thanks for your input. Just to clarify, the certificate my husband has is an official certificate issued by the Yemeni government, nothing unofficial or questionable about it.
I’m not worried about him being asked to explain where it came from. My question was specifically about the age of the document, since it was issued over a year ago, I’m trying to confirm if we need to get a new one before the interview.
I know the NVC website states that police certificates remain valid for two years if the applicant hasn’t left the country. But I also have friends whose spouses ( Yemeni ) were still asked to provide a newer one during their interviews and were told it needs to be less than 6 months old, despite what’s written online.
So I’m really just hoping to hear from people who recently went through the Djibouti embassy process and can share what they were told or asked for.
