Unfortunately, you have to refile I-824 and specify the country you want to have your approved petition to be sent—which costs 465 dollars.

@am Elia that is not true. once you have your proof of residence all you have to do is go to the NVC inquiry form then state your reasons for transferring nd upload your files hit submit. then await them to transfer your request

when transferring a case you transfer everything they require you to submit depending on the country. state the reason for your transfer. send through NVC public inquiry form. some people’s transfer took just one day while some took. months or weeks

no you don’t need to contact the embassy if you have all your documents at hand just send it to NVC public inquiry

@Abena Gee, what embassy did you transfer to if you don’t mind? and do you have a visa alone in that country or a residence permit

I think for west Africans, we don’t need a residence permit or visa to travel to any west African country, esp any ecowas country. You are automatically a residence or don’t need visas… @Abena & @olamide, am I correct?

@andy god I think the same we have ecowas passport so we can reside anywhere in the west Africa area but we never know with nvc if someone transfer his case with only his passport let us know pls
