it doesn't need to go to a field office at all, just many have to help get through processing quicker. Plus you wouldn't know if moved unless ask an agent through Emma

I asked agent and she said it never went to FO. Case last worked on a week back.

it is normal. Don’t just look at the cases that get approved quickly. timelines are very arbitrary. people say it doesn’t have to go to a field office, but that might be because transfer to local office is not communicated to people unless asked through Emma/phone. Apparently, the approval notice comes from nbc even though a field office makes the final decision. It looks like the procedure is to send it to a field office for final adjudication. When in field office, it still takes an arbitrary amount of time.

4-month is normal. Expect 6-10 months

@david K based on previous approval applicant testimony, and based on tier 2 agent on the phone, not all case have to go to FO, they can directly approve from NBC.

@david K moved to FO after 7 months, still pending after 3 months.

how did you ask Emma if case is transferred to local fieid office? Is it by asking for a live agent?
