case approved!!!
hello guys!!! so finally after waiting for little over 1.5 years our interview was scheduled at POrtland though our FO was SEattle ,but USCIS is shifting Seattle cases to Portland these days. I have seen many people’s interview at Portland instead of Seattle. We reached half an hour in advance as it was a long que waiting for us. Our interview was at 1.30 but our officer was probably busy so we were only called in at 2:00. Other than customary yes or no question he only asked about how we met and routine questions such as who cooks and where have you travelled together. We were carrying many documents to support our case such as financials, originals birth certificates , photo album and any normal document which we all know by now.The officer only flipped through our photo album hurriedly and dint ask for any other document , we did try to push through but he seems ok without documetns .The over all vibe was relaxed and he seemed content .He did talk a bit about his travel and some experiences casually. By the end of the interview which barely lasted for 25-30 mins he informed that our case is approved and said if we want to ask any questions, when we dint have any he explained the conditional Green card residency rule as our marriage is few months less than 2 years and the procedure there on for a 10 year green card and citizenship if someone wants to apply . i got the update ‘New card is being produced “ in 15 mins and case is approved the next day . In nut shell i can say it is stressful yet easy when you actually crack it. I know each officer is different but by and large they are sincere and diligent with their work . i would be happy to answer any specific question for the interview. i am thankful to all the fellow members here who replied to my queries often silly here . i am grateful for their time and knowledge so i wanna spread the little knowledge i have around. I have attached my timeline as well so you guys can have an idea . Good luck and stay blessed . i still wanna be an active member of this community and hope the same from you guys as the info we share is free and mostly accurate.

congratulations my friend and thank you for the detailed and very helpful information. It goes to show that these officers are only human and are there for the best outcome. My experience is that it takes them a few seconds to know if something is genuine or not…the rest is just formality

@kim plunkett, thanks a lot , i appreciate your kind words. Good luck and you ull crack it ,i am yet to see any critical experience for Portland interview. Everyone from the security guard, receptionist and the officer seemed relaxed . Don’t shy to ask them anything in the building , they are happy to answer . They do have nice vending machine and yes you can carry your cell phones and use them freely till you actually reach the immigration officer’s room.

@itchy ass, it took them around 4-5 months after the update said Case is ready to be scheduled doe an interview and 11 months after one RFE that i received. warmly...

@adam T, not at all , i got RFE for I864 that is my partner’s pay stubs and employment paper as she is my sponsor . It’s ok if someone’s partner has weak financials in that case any relative can submit his or her financial credentials to the application. They have a detailed info on that or the RFE issued on i864 form .

@lley JM, your very welcome , it will be a breeze in Portland , trust me , jus overwhelm with lots of evidence and docs so he wont have anytime or intent to ask any tricky question . It will be over before you know. Good luck and keep us posted .... Keep helping ppl on the forum . warmly
