case approved!
My greencard is (almost) approved!! Here is my timeline (B2-AOS Alaska-Florida) 13 Feb 2021 - Enter USA with Tourist Visa 28 May 2021 - Got Married 24 June 2021 - Sent out the package (filled by ourself I485,I130,I765,I131) 28 June 2021 - Priority Date (NOA1) 12 July 2021 - Check was cashed 14 August 2021 - Biometrics was schedule (NOA2) 09 September 2021 - Biometrics appointment day and I765 status changed to Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS 5 mins after biometrics was taken) 20 September 2021 - Change address from Alaska to Florida online 01 October 2021 - Interview was schedule in Miami 14 October 2021 - Change address from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale (7pm) 15 October 2021 - Interview was cancelled (got notified at midnight on lawfully app) 15 October 2021 - (evening) Interview was schedule in Ft.Lauderdale 19 October 2021 - Interview was cancelled (late morning) 19 October 2021 - Interview was schedule 30 November 2021 - Interview Day!!! And status change to case is being actively reviewed by USCIS 5 mins after we came out from the place and right away got the RFE for the medical record. …. I got RFE because my medical record was abit complicated. I got my medical exam done when I was 38 weeks pregnant, So I couldn’t get some vaccine, I only got TDAP. But the day that the Doctor sign was after I gave birth to the baby. So after checking the baby birth date and the day doctor signed the medical, it looked like I got the medical exam done after giving birth. So I should be able to get a vaccine. (But may be it was also the Dr. fault that he did not note that I was pregnant at the time the medical exam was taken. May be if he noted that down It will be accepted) However, we just have to wait for the RFE mail and get the vaccine and send it back to them 🙂. The officer said he will be waiting for our medical record and approve our case as there’s no issue with it, and we should be getting a card and SSN within 3-4 weeks. … Interview part Our appointment was at 09.00. We reached there at 8.45. And was waiting in the line to checked in. There was many people infront of us and many more in the waiting room. We got called to go in at 9.30. We went with our month old baby 🙂. The officer was very nice, polite and friendly. First thing we did after got inside the room was to swear that we will say the truth. Then he asked the petitioner for his prove of USC (my husband gave him the passport) He then looked at my passport and the immigration stamp and asked when did I arrive here? Did I ever leave the States at all after arriving here? And did I ever used the C1/D visa to enter USA (I am a former flight attendants) So I said yes. I have entered States many times before with C1/D visa. Then he asked for the baby birth certificate and my husband divorce decree. And updated our baby in the system. Then he asked me a yes/no questions and asked me to sign 2 forms. Then he started asking my husband about our relationship like 1. How did we met? (We matched on Tinder in Kuwait 2 years ago. We both worked in Kuwait) 2. When did we first met? (1 week after talking on Tinder) And he starts looking at our photos. We showed him countries we have travelled together, photos of him with my family, photo of me with his family, our engagement party photos, photo with our baby. We brought 45 photos, no chats (cuz its so cheesy 🤣🤣) He looked at all of it and said that he will take only 2 of the important moment photos which was engagement day and photo with our baby at the hospital. At the end he said that he wont be asking lots of questions because we have baby together and thats say it all and that he will approve the case after receiving our medical record. He also asked if I want to change my last name to my husband last name instead, and ofcourse I said yes. I actually wanted to change my first name too 😂😂 (my name is super long and …. You know it 🤣🤣🤣) but he suggested that I change when I applied for Citizenship instead its gonna be easier for me (didnt really understand why but ok 🤣🤣🤣) So that was our journey 🙂. I got alot of helps from this group. Everytime I feel insecure and scared I keep coming back here and read the review from other people and I know everything gonna be alright. Im not the only one facing this problem etc. Whenever I have questions I would try to talk to the live agent through emma first. If she couldnt give me an answer, the old post on this group really helps alot By the way, sometimes the live agent info is not really up to date. So if you dont feel right. Try to connect to another one. My case was I already received the interview notice in Ft.Lauderdale center (after I changed my address from Miami). But because I also got the cancelled notice on the same day with the interview notice 😑😑. So i wasnt sure if its schedule or cancelled. So I talked to live agent. But from her information. She still have my interview notice in Miami 😑😑😑. I told her that I already changed address to Ft.Lauderdale and also got mail here, I dont think we have anything to do in Miami anymore, then she said “ok, stick to the mail you got” 😑😑😑😑😑 which doesnt really help, plus she made me even more confused 🤣🤣🤣 but I just decided to go anyway because in my uscis account it still say interview was schedule 😝. … So anyway. Good luck allll. Wish you all the best.

Congrat. everything should be fine when you mail the updated Medical Form, is the IO give you any letter after you completed the interview?
N
Nana HoweDec 6, 2021
@eye mini. I have to bring because we dont have other family member here and he is too young to hire a nanny and it was actually better because the officer sees him he was like that’s enough proof and i wont be asking too much questions I know you are very busy 😂😂😂 so thats why he didnt ask any question. I print out everything and bring to the interview just in case because these days i’ve been hearing alot about they lost the file and they couldnt approve the case on spot because they have no file on their hand. So just to avoid that i brought everything lol.

@nana Howe thank you for the feedback …😊 I wasn’t planning on leaving him but I wasn’t sure if I am allowed to have someone else beside my husband. I can barely breathe when my son is not with me 😂 and oh my I submitted like 213 pages of everything including our photos 😂 but well I guess I gotta get some ink and print everything out then. thank you for answering also why did they ask if you wanted to change your name then? and did you end up changing your last name?

we are in the same boat. Let me know if you have an update on your case after sent the RFE. I had the interview on November 4th it was approved, but from Oct 1st immigration are asking for the new version of medical exam that includes the covid vacine record and i didn't know 😣. so on November 8th i sent the new version of medical exam, on nov 17th my status changed to we received your correspondence and we are reviewing it. Until now i don't have any update 😖
N
Nana HoweDec 6, 2021
@pilar sure. will come back and update if there’s any changes.
Yanner VDec 6, 2021

p
pilar sDec 6, 2021
@Nana Howe, thanks 🤗
Yanner VDec 6, 2021
@pilar, that’s ridiculous because the medical is not cheap! I guess I have to start saving up for another one then
p
pilar sDec 6, 2021
@Rennay V, yes, just make sure you have the new version of the medical exam and also it's not expired by the day of your appointment
Yanner VDec 6, 2021
why can’t the doctor just fill in the COVID vaccine on immunization card instead of having to pay all over again? I think I’ll have to try doing that
Zain MominDec 6, 2021

@Zain Momin The process for applying for a green card from within the United States is called Adjustment of Status (AOS). When you use AOS, you’ll be able to stay in the United States while your application is processed, even if your visa expires before your green card is approved. credit : boundless.com
Yanner VDec 6, 2021
@Nana, ok cool! thanks...If I have to do another I'll do that

I received the email that they dont reconginize my new adress . Had a chat with a life agent who told me that he can see my new adress and placed the request for the tier officer to give me a call within 1 month but I still didnt receive a call and almost passed 3 weeks so wondering should I fill out another AR11 or ? Thank you

Nana HoweDec 6, 2021
@Maya M. hmm I would try to contact live agent again and see if it is updated on their end. if yes then I wouldnt be worry about it. i got the confirmation email when I first move from Alaska to Miami. but when I change from Miami to Ft.Lauderdale. i didnt get the confirmation right away but 3 days later I try to talk to live agent via emma it is already updated to the most recent address :) and then I got the interview notice at my new address so thats how i know its updated

I got my biometric on the last of Dec 2021 , after 2 days my statut has changed to” case is being reviewed by Uscis”, but I have not got fingers prints were taken . I am confused😞 some of people said it's ok bcz my case is reviewing, others said i need to get updated about fingers prints should be ( fingers printswere taken). what do you think plz ? thx .

cristy simonFeb 23, 2022
sounds great . thank you 🥰.
cristy simonFeb 23, 2022
@Nana Howe my case almost similar to yours . I used to work as cabin crew in Saudi Arabia. I lived in Jeddah for 2 or 3 month working as flight ✈️ attendant and came back to my country again, stayed for one month or more . From 2017 until mars 2020 I had many entries and exits between my country and Saudia Arabia . my question is : Do uscis need my criminal record from Saudi Arabia too 🇸🇦 or just from my mother country . I want to fill and they asked for my last 5 years (work experiences). did you get your criminal record too from Gcc country.
N
Nana HoweFeb 23, 2022
@cristy. if you adjust status from inside usa. they didnt ask for anything.
cristy simonFeb 23, 2022
yes it's from the USA. I appreciate your help . 💕
