card in hand
Picked up my card from my lawyer office today from Falls church, VA. I am so much happy to see GC. Finally going back home on first week of June, 2022 after 14 damn long years. It was a roller coaster ride. Thanks to this lawfully app which give me updates as soon as uscis touch my case. Even though my lawyer didn’t get any updates or notification from uscis but this app send you notifications immediately.
I will probably be back when I am filing citizenship.
Best of luck to all of you who has been waiting patiently to get their GC. Thanks to all FAM!!

@Rody Cham It’s a long process. I Got robbed on Nov 2012 on a gun point by 2 people. I couldn’t continue by school due to this incident. I lost my student status on May 2013. Testify on court 3 times for them 2 people who robbed me. they went to jail for 25 years and 40 years . I applied U visa on July 2014. Went back to college on Jan 2015. I got DA (deferred action) on March 2016. Again after DA, I got my status back on March 2016. I Graduated 👨🎓 from University on May 2016. I Got U visa on Feb 2018. GC filed on June 2021. Approved on May 2022. The benefits of u visa is you don’t have to attend any kind of interview.

skc kcMay 21, 2022
@fnu Inu yes I did came here student visa. I wasn’t hurt at all. no physical harm. They just put a gun on my head and threatened me that “ If I don’t give him money from register, then he ll shoot me down”
so I gave him all the money off cash register. Then he ran away. and I called 911 and he get caught on high speed chase on a highway and so many crash to different vehicles.
I am from Nepal. I have a lawyer from Virginia. She wants to send me the GC to my address in Texas, but I want to get it from her hand since I have met her only once back in 2016. And also, I just don’t want USPS to loose my mail again just like while they lost my package when I used usps to send the reply of my RFE to USCIS . My lawyer is also Nepalese lawyer.

@chichi Ada Thanks what is FO means?
Oga AdeMay 22, 2022
@skc Kc It means field office . Mine is Atlanta .
skc kcMay 22, 2022
@chichi Ada U visa has only 2 service center. mine was on Nebraska service center. it is used to be only Vermont service center before. Even though my service center is Nebraska, If I had to send inquiries or if I had to get some info on my case then I had to sent letter to Vermont service center. U visa is sensitive and even calling uscis directly, uscis won’t be able to provide any info on U visa case. they just told everyone to write letter to Vermont Service Center.

@skc kc that makes sense mine is vawa . My case was in Vermont but my interview was in Atlanta cause that’s where I live . I was so worried when they told me over the phone that they didn’t have any information on what was going on with my case . They told me to write a letter to Vermont and find out what’s going on . They are sensitive cases . So depressing at the same time . There’s hope and light at the end of the tunnel . Sharing your story calmed my nerves 🤣. Thank u and a big congrats to u !!

@chichi Ada I used to call them 1-2 times a week since Feb 2022. coz I lost my job for not having u visa extension work permit and also no green card (GC) EAD. The extension only applies to renewal EAD not for initial GC EAD. I was so much frustrated every week. I don’t know what to do next beside waiting. in Jan month, 2022 I send letter explaining that my U visa EAD is about to expire and my HR wants me to verify I9 for work authorization, expedite request from my company, monthly apartments bill, cell phone, credit cards bill, utilities bill, auto payment bill. I used fo attach all those bills and send it to both Nebraska and Vermont for first time. then Feb 1, Feb 15, Feb 28, March 3 I did send same copies to Vermont this time.
Sent letter to State Representative on Feb 18 and they also call me a week after and request to expedite on behalf of my side.
then got RFE for I485 and got approved on May, 2022.
I was so frustrated coz my company terminated me on March 25 since they had a policy to hold the job for only 30 days max .
I used to call uscis 1-2 times a week even though I know they don’t have any info on my case even though I already know that they ll say
“write a letter to Vermont Service Center till you get a reply “
that’s what I did
I write probably 8 letters by attaching 3 months of all kind of bill together to show than that I need to get EAD.
but I was so lucky that they approve my I485 GC without approval of EAD and Advance Parole card. So, I was shocked that I never seen anyone GC approval before EAD and AP card. I guess my day has come. I was the luckiest person to get approved of GC.
