Card Delivered To Wrong Address
Hi all My Green Card was supposed to be delivered today, but for some unknown reason it was sent to my lawyer’s previous office location which is vacant. Latest update from USCIS is that card will be returned to them. Is there any way I can stop this and actually reroute my card to the correct address? I went to USPS but they were no help at all. Anybody had a similar issue?

if it’s already returned to uscis then you can’t reroute it.. you have to wait until uscis receive it . call them give them the right address

It happened today and I read that usps keeps the mail for 10 days before actually returning it. I called uscis and set everything up once they receive it, but I don’t want to deal with that if I don’t have to.

You can't get it from USPS. it will be mailed back to USCIS. then if you're lucky it will be mailed back in 2weeks ,my sister had to wait another 30days for it to be mailed back. Good luck.

How long did it take from the time you called them, to them receiving back your GC and sending it to the proper address?

tweet you went to USPS and actually got your GC before it was returned to USCIS? What did you tell them and what state was it in?

keep checking usps everyday, if the package delivered to wrong address the person at the address will give it back to the postman 2days later or so, keep calling usps if they have the package back, if they do then u can ask for hold since it’s priority mail. hold and ask them u will come pick it up.

Yes immediately go to USPS online platform, enter the tracking number and declare the mail missing, at the website they will ask you for new delivery address, just follow the instruction.

I wasn’t able to do that, or to intercept the mail since the delivery address was vacant. My lawyer will try to get the mail in Chicago tomorrow if they let them. Hopefully it doesn’t get sent out back to sender in the meantime
