we got DQ July 2024. My wife is in Canada on work permit. her work permit is expiring in Oct 2024. now that we found out that Montreal is in backlog and we won’t receive interview date any time before October. she has option to stay on visitor visa to avoid paying thousands of dollars for work permit renewal.
does anyone know if this will cause any issue during interview process?
Please provide any suggestions .🙏

I don’t think USCIS cares about your Canadian immigration status. if your wife can get a visitors visa to stay in status in Canada it sounds like that would be helpful so she’s not out of status in case you want to visit in the future.

once she will get green card, she should be able to visit Canada without visa needed. it’s just matter of few months to be on visitor visa since her original work permit status is expiring.

same situation mine case approved like a year ago but have not got any interview . case status is ready for interview.
