Hi, I was told by my attorney to be very careful with that. The esta is a tourist visa and with a immigrant visa pending obviously you have intent to live there. I actually do still visit my husband who is a US citizen and I travel on a B2 visa. I take lots of paperwork with me to prove that I will be returning to my country - return ticket and proof that I live elsewhere like rent book, utility bills, letters from doctors, motor vehicle documents etc. I have been very lucky so far, some officers just let me in with no question and some do question me a bit. It is always a nerve wrecking experience waiting in the immigration line. if only they processed our visas we wouldn’t have to put ourselves through this!!. I can only speak to our experience but the beneficiary was able to successfully enter the US three separate times on a B1/B2 Mexican Tourist Visa while. Our case is still pending. The visits were for 1 month/2 weeks/5 days respectfully. I think it these cases are up to the agent so nothing is guaranteed but if all else, be truthful about the reason for your visit. Also worth noting my fiancé had a previous record of entering and leaving the US which could have helped too. best
