can someone explain me the final action date?
I understand that in July, for example, the USCIS set the final action date for August to be April 1st 2022. however, in July, they are processing I-130 and I-140, and some people might be rejected, including people who have priority date April. therefore, in August, there might be sufficient visa to approve also May applications. is that right ? what part of the process I am wrong about ?

Final action date is set for 485 application not 140. 130 is family-based petition, so nothing to do with EB final action date. You can still estimate 485 applications from 140 approval statistics but the decisions on the most of Apr-May 2022 140 applications (they are from FY22) are already made, so this approach doesnt make sense.

The final action dates are for the i-485 process. The i-130 and i-140 is a separate filing and does not have a relation to it. The final action date is the date were a certain applicant has an available green card for them.

if my PD is July 2021, our i140 was approved un February, and my 485 is pending (just sent back medical RFE to a FO 17days ago) does this apply to me as well? are they waiting for a green card to be available for me?
