congressman office wants me to show some docs so wondering if that is ok to do while live agent said wait for 30 days for the response.

No my status never changed, and it didn’t show in my account that I had an ongoing request. Yes, you should submit supporting documents so the congressman can include that already instead of waiting until USCIS requests it.

@K B At first they rejected it, but asked that I could appeal with more proof. Then I wrote an appeal letter and included more doc like the email showing that I was laid off, auto loan default letter etc. The congressman’s office was very helpful because they contacted me quickly and sent my appeal letter within two hrs. At the same time, I had previously filed two expedite requests on my own. Tier 2 officer called this week and I explained my situation. Anyway, yesterday they finally approved my expedite request (through congressman).🥳 So now I’m just waiting for the next update.

When was approval through congressional liaison was granted, only update I saw was received documents. no actual status change.

I don’t know if they approved it because of the appeal letter through congressman, because of my expedite request through Emma or all of it. I’m just grateful to God that there’s finally some movement on my case after a long season of silence. Been at it since January, been out of work for over 2mths and almost 10mths since I filed my i-765 renewal.

Interesting thing to note is that although the live agents recommended filing another one if I didn’t hear back in 7 days, which was why I had multiple requests, the tier 2 officers said filing multiple expedite requests before getting a response only ends up delaying the case.

@Hopeful when you say there’s no action, do you mean there’s no change in the status online? I raised an expedite request through emma yesterday and the status changed to request received. Did your case change to this status and didn’t hear back from the officers?

@NR, Yes. Even now, still the same “notice was sent…”. Glad yours changed. It helps to know something is happening.
