can I applied for citizenship right after I completed probation?
hi, my father were arrested for DWI back in 2020. But after seeing the judge, it reduced to reckless driving. He had 12 months probation, 6 months ignition, 6 months license suspended, and have to completed course, class. He had completed the probation on Sept,2022. I did not know anything about 3-5 years rules after probation so I applied for his citizenship( N-400 ) on April,2023. He went to interview on Oct,2023. My father passed the exam but were asked for RFE( the officer asked for the outcome of the probation which I did not submitted and could not find it at the court since this is unsupervised probation so the court doesn’t have the certificated that I had completed it). Althought, I was able to asked for a letter which is where he took his class. On the letter, the director said that my father had completed the 12 months probation and paid all the fine and certify it. I submitted it on the following day and had not received anything back yet. Had anyone been through this, had anyone applied right after probation like my father because a lawyer told me that I should’ve wait 5 years after probation. Is this true?

The three-year rule applies only to people who have married a US citizen. If you have sponsored your dad he will have to wait for five years in the USA.
