Called USCIS for updates 😩
Hello everyone,
Today I contacted USCIS by phone regarding my green card application. I was told that my case is considered “processing normally,” even though it has been pending for about 20 months, and that a service request cannot be opened at this time.
I was also informed that my case is currently being handled by the San Bernardino Field Office, even though I do not live in San Bernardino County—it is a neighboring county. What I find confusing is that I never received any transfer notice, and my online USCIS account still does not reflect any field office transfer.
However, this information was not entirely new. In early September 2025, I submitted a congressional inquiry, and USCIS’s written response to my congressman also referenced the San Bernardino Field Office liaison. Today’s phone call confirmed that my file has been there since then.
I’m trying to understand what to expect next. If anyone has experience with the San Bernardino Field Office or has gone through a similar situation, I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thank you 🙏

@Reza X its very normal, there are over 80 field offices in the usa , service center distribute files as per work load , you file will be processed were it is right now, yea but if they want to interview you it will move to your local field office , otherwise its all set , they will approve your file there .
nothing to worry

I contacted USCIS, and they told me that my I-485 application is being processed at the NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. It has been in processing for 19 months, which is still within the normal processing time of up to 19.5 months. Is it okay that my case is being handled at the NBC.

Does anyone have any information about the National Benefits Center? Please share. Thank you.

@ADILET B What about you? You have been waiting for so long as well? I remember you.
vi_34567 345Dec 13, 2025
@Reza X did he told you why it’s not the right time ?
so the right time it’s maybe when the president tries to revoke everyone’s asylum ? granted asylum ? I’m filing next Tuesday because we can take no chance I understand that even green card he can reinterview and everything but we have nothing to fear if the case is legit !!!! in the next four years it’s never the right time
