Birth certificate for 485
I didn’t have a long form birth certificate so I submitted a notarized affidavit from my uncles who certified my birth details. I also submitted the birth certificate I had (which didn’t have my name) along with school certificates and my passport which carried my date of birth. I also did the same for wife’s birth certificate which had similar errors. I also recently got to know that USCIS also expects a certificate from local municipality that the long form certificate is not available. My i140 ans i765 are already approved and waiting for my i485. Would the above birth certificate situation be a problem? #i485 #birthcertificate

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html Choose the country you are from and go under birth certificate. It will give you the information on your options and alternatives if you dont have the original birth certificate. Hope this helps.
