Biometrics appointment i485/i765 finally received (USCIS received date 7 Dec 2020) at Texas
Some good news received in the post today …Woohoo - a step close to getting our employment docs. We received our biometrics appointment …for 13 Dec 2021. …Then, hopefully, the actual employment authorisation docs should come through a few weeks after that! Fingers crossed - that would be a great Xmas pressie! My employment based AoS was filed con-currently (i485, i131, i140 and i765) at Texas (SRC). After 2 denied expedite requests and a non-helpful service request - this is small step forward but I’m doing a little happy dance!! The biometric appointment is at the Raleigh/Morrisville NC application support centre/field office.

congrats. I too filled concurrently 140 and 485 on December 21 2020. Form I 140 approved in Premium in Oct 2021 (I couldn’t wait ant longer so I asked my employer to file fa premium request) and after that shortly I received my bio appointment which was done last week. It only took 11 months to receive bio letter, shocking.

just saying you can go early as per your ease for biometric appointment. i did it too. just take your appointment and other required docs and preferably go later part of the day and ask if they can take your fingerprints they will not say no to you. I got me bio done 2 weeks before my actual date.

Jo C, I think the USCIS updated a bunch of applications today and yesterday. My wife’s case status changed yesterday to “fingeprints were taken”, while mine was updated today. We had our bio in mid November. Hopefully something happens in the next month or two.
rafay bin mansoorDec 30, 2021
mine bio was done on nov 15 but still no update :(

Hi all, similar here. PD Feb 1st 2021. i140, i485, i765, i131 concurrently filing. Although EB-2 NIW. Bio appointment for i485 end Nov. Dec 30 my i765 changed to fingerprints were applied. FYI I have asked previously to Emma and they always said bio for my i765 were reused in March. I don't think that is true since i765 status changed just after a few weeks my i485 bio were taken.

Ana G CJan 23, 2022
@Jo C was your bio appointment for i485 or i765? Mine said i485.
J
Jo CJan 23, 2022
same as you Ana - bio letter said 485 but 765 updated to say fingerprints applied on 30 Dec

Ana G CJan 23, 2022
Thanks. It seems we are very similar. Let's keep each other posted. Fingers crossed.

Good news Jo, have you been asked to provide evidence or has it been approved?
J
Jo CJan 24, 2022

Great news! Can I aske what evidence you provided? I’m still waiting but a bit behind you - 4th Feb 2021 PD.

Jo CJan 24, 2022
I sent a cover letter explaining my personal financial circumstances along with a spreadsheet detailing all monthly expenses and copies of docs hat supported each payments. I also mentioned our family members who have chronic medical conditions and we no longer can afford the level of cover from my employer (paying for it ourselves under COBRA) and have to pay for short term medical cover, plus a loan we had to take out for outstanding medical bills.

J

thanks SS - I agree and the whole of USCIS is just massive blackhole!

Ana G CJan 25, 2022
Congrats Jo C. Big medical bills seems to be a strong reason to approve expedite request. FYI, my husband stated that he had to stop working in a public school where workers number is critical during pandemic and his ER got approved too. It took a month to receive the card after ER was approved but I saw other people who received card just a week after their ER were approved.

Hey Jo C, congrats! Hope this EAD stabilizes your situation a little. Stay safe!

thanks @Uros - defo came literally weeks before we were having to go back to the U.K. AND my case, just now changed, to card being produced. Fantastic I’m really so happy right now :D. The journey isn’t over, but a massive relief and worry is off my shoulders.

Really congrats! Did you also apply for i131? I did it also and had to travel in Dec. Now my lawyer told me we need to re-apply again for i131 since I have traveled while it was pending. Looking for someone in the same situation to share experience.
J
Jo CJan 25, 2022
@Ana I did apply for i131 at the same time, but I had not had to travel yet:
