Been current since Mar 24, status changed to CRP today.
Hoping for input - Priority date is Nov 22, Row and PD has been current since March 2024. RD is Dec 2023, all steps are complete but got an update today that case remains pending. Very confused by this since we’ve been current for 4 months. Anyone going through something similar, and tips on next steps?

@R N, this might imply that your i485 has been approved. Give it 24 hrs, it will update to approved. Fingers crossed!!

@Rijo Rijo why do you think that?

@R N, because it happened to someone on this platform. And it made sense. Since you didn't enter CRP until now, it is most likely an approval. Otherwise, it is a huge error from USCIS...

@J A any insights as to why it’s happening?

Because there is a limited visa available. USCIS cannot issue beyond that limit because its the law. They are trying to adjust base on the demand of the visa and when the demand is high the probability of retrogession increases. The reason behind CRP is to get a glimpse of the demand so visa issuance can be controlled.

@J A I do see cases after my PD being approved for the same category. I thought the visa bulletin each month is based on calculations of retrogression. Being current all this while and to be moved to CRP yesterday seemed strange. Anyway, have no control over this so will just wait.

People confuse PD because they see what they can only see. Remember PD does not only constitute only filing for AOS but also you take into consideration the time you filed your labor certification. They might have filed after you because there filing date on the visa bulletin were not yet current but when they filed they get ahead of you because they retain there PD from there LC filing date and not on the filing date of AOS.
