dear all,
can uscis approve your travel document and work authorization before they complete background checks? they approved my travel document and work authorization but my green card is still pending and when I called they said they’re waiting on the background checks? is that normal?

they cannot issue you ead/ap without background check. They already did that.

I am in the same boat. Got my combo card. 485 status is still pending review and they cannot move forward until the review is complete. it’s already outside normal processing time.
