Mine is 14 months after interview. I'm still waiting for the results of background check.

@kay kay how you find out its about background check. to me my lawyer informed me. i have no criminal record or anything else.

I contacted my congressman and senator at different time and they contacted uscis, both came out that case was under background check. whenever I ask Emma, she always say that case is under reviewing.

I think uscis use the background check as a delay tactic. Last week I contacted Ombudsman and they contacted uscis immediately about my case, to my surprise uscis sent me RFE second day for bona-fide marriage evidence and gave me just one month to respond for them to make decision on my case..

@kay kay there is an official website for fbi background check which gives result in 1-2 weeks. can we get background check from there and submit that.?

Deeper Singh. I dnt think so. Even if you do, uscis conducted lots of background check, not only with FBI and until the result comes out, they won't make decision on your case. They check immigration history, documents verification and lots more. You only need to wait and keep making service request once a month.

@desmond Ade, ok. From that general instruction, start filling the form from 1a,1b,2,3,4,5,6,7,9 and 12. Number 9 is compulsory. You can skip 8,10 and 11 part.

Yeah. They do background checks for all applicants. Applicants with prior marriages, overstayed or that has prior immigration history takes much longer time to process
