@application filler year 2022 You can face the interview with your lawyer and tell Uscis officer that you are not going through asylum because you have pending vawa & i-485 So officer can withdraw your asylum and may continue with vawa as i know otherwise asylum case will go immigration court as removal proceedings that would cost you lots of money and mental stress that i have experienced. so no worries about ice cause you have pending vawa means u r okey no one can do nothing if your background is clear. i have faced 3rd time court with pending vawa for withdrawal my asylum case. all the time was good with judge now my case is administrative closed until get vawa approval. hope its help for u good luck

@Mohammad Khan having pending Vawa doesn’t guarantee anything. they can still detain any person without a US passport and green card. ICE doesn’t care about your pending status and can detain anyone. you are still unlawful resident in the USA. I’m not surprised why they started checking immigrants now a lot of people literally do a lot of frauds and cases then real cases suffer from such irresponsible immigrants.

when did you file your asylum case? and to answer your question you can write letter to the field office to request to withdraw your asylum application if you wish to only depend on the vawa. attached a signed letter with your A number and request for withdrawal.

@Dani M M ice can detain anyone, you are right. however some people are eligible for bond. the people denied bond are people that were not in lawful presence before applying for change of status. or if you came in through a lie or came in through the border. however, if you remained in lawful presence before your change of status and are still in lawful status presently with no criminal record, you can be bonded out. still, its a lot of money. even greencard holders that were not in lawful presence before rhey got rheir green card are being detained if caught in a bad situation…

@ob o you really believe in that. ICE has a plan of Mass deportation in 2026 with their goal to deport 1-2M people every year so they don’t care about what status you have right now. the laws don’t work in current time so all things you are talking about is theoretically possible not real life scenarios.
