oh ok well I think you need an experienced lawyer to help u out cuz I'm not sure if they'll approve your asylum just because you're a nurse. I'm also in same situation I have my date for this February coming but I'm married to a us citizen and my marriage case is pending

make your research! you can file for your self for 10 years permanent resident being a RN. my friend did the same thing! he had a 10years green card without getting married!!!!

yup she can get it through her job without getting married but only if the company or the hospital she works at want to sponsor her and if she's already in court meaning she's in deportation proceedings it won't be easy for her to get. an experienced lawyer is her best bet to help with that because once you're in deportation your case could be complicated a job might not be able to give u a green card easily

Aurora - You can't push an asylum case unless you know people in high places with long arms. on a more realistic note, asylum is the longest shot to immigrate to the US, and you just need to let it play out. among those waiting for asylum are high skilled workers too. So, with all due respect, wait patiently for your turn in line. unfortunately, your qualifications don't play a role in determining your case.
jboy jboy - Aurora has a pending asylum case. she can't file for green card while that case is pending because though people under pending asylum are legal in the country, we don't have any status. So, for Aurora to file for the green card she'll have to forfeit the asylum case, leave the country, and file for herself from her home country. Asylum processing is a whole different thing. π

@lilo pelekai- I stand to be corrected, I have a friend that was on asylum and he got married to a citizen of USA., the lady file for him and the asylum case was put aside and was eventually cancelled! I guess she should contact a lawyer for more clarification, we ainβt lawyer, we are just talking from the little experience we have! she canβt be sent out of the country because she is not on status on asylum, so many people are not on status and are still living in the country!!!

jboy jboy - yes, that's another way to do it but right now we are talking about her asylum case. as of right now she's "stuck" with that process. if Aurora wants to marry one day and does, she could choose between pursuing that road or continue with asylum if the asylum is still pending. she won't be obliged to start a marriage-based green card process even if it is faster. she could choose to or not not to and there won't be anything wrong with that. but right now she's on pending asylum, and that's what the help was about, not forcing her into marriage. you don't know if that's even what she ever wants and honestly, that's none of our business unless Aurora decides to make it ours. π
