ur case is not on the clock that’s not good news My advise for you is to get a pro Bono lawyer in the meantime you have to write to send a letter to the asylum the office to request to current status of ur application. You can do some research on google to see formal polite letter to asylum to request the status of ur application..it’s not against the law I have done before…

most of the time the delay of asylum application depends of ur country of origin and the state where you live currently…I could be wrong but my asylum application delayed because I used to live in Alaska and they don’t have asylum office

Steve if your asylum was filed before the f1 status expired then you would be able to adjust but your asylum should be pending until your I 485 is filed

@Uzair: Asylum was filed after within the 2yrs of F1. Can I file for NIW with MBBS now? And what happens to my pending interview Asylum?

but was your f1 active when asylum filed ?

I am not sure cause NIW are hard for MBBS but I would say try Eb 3 more easier but all depends when you filed for asylum after being out of status or being in status

@Uzair: I am not sure if my F1 was still active or not at that time, but the school threatenedto terminatemy SEVIS if I didn'tpay my balance but I am not sure if they did. However, I visited the school recently and I was told they didn't see on my record that my studentship was terminated. I left school towards the end first semester around April when I couldn't afford tuition. I didn't file asylum until October of that year which was about 6 month after leaving the school.
