how long did it take for them to schedule your interview after response to the rfe

honestly, we took a lot of documents, life insurance , joined investment account, we were not able to open joint bank accounts since banks didn’t allow me to open an account without a valid resident status ( the officer was super understanding about that) , I also overstayed my visa ( which was forgiven since I am married to a us citizen) , photos, letters, beneficiary on each other’s accounts. he skimmed through that. He just asked me about how we met, how we started dating. I ended up telling my whole story truthfully for about 15 minutes. he was very empathetic and kind. we are also pregnant so that was another positive thing. I told him, I haven’t seen my family abroad for 3 years now, due to Covid and now immigration and told how I am an only child( our officer is also an only child) so again, it related to him and he was super empathetic. he asked me for citations and offenses. I told him about the one traffic citation I have and he laughed and told me I meant serious kinds ;) he basically did my background check and all the paperwork right in front of us and told us that the green card will be in time before our trip( I told him, I have already booked my tickets) we also had our lawyer present but we would have been fine without her)

our center was national benefit and field office was San Jose

my interview was scheduled in 2 months after rfe!

overall, honesty is the key to get through the interview. My parents doesn’t appprove of my husband since they hadn’t met him but I told the officer the whole true story on how we convinced my parents etc. And, he liked that. Once I was done talking for 15 mins about our whole history, he was so happy to see that we are together and happy

our officer was just the kindest man! we truly feel blessed about the timeline and the interview

our interview was scheduled dec 23 but it was yesterday. we got approved same day

my rfe was about my birth certificate translation. I used the service called “ rush translate” highly highly recommend them. I uploaded the translated certificate. within 12 hours my rfe cleared and I was scheduled for biometrics

California is processing quicker than other states

I read on Reddit someone wrote people who have applied in 2021 are getting there gc faster since Biden administration has done some changes. the applications from 2019 and early 2020 are stuck in a queue coz trump gov had another agency processing stuff and that agency is slow. I am not sure of this info! I read it on Reddit

we live in Bay Area. we just got scheduled to San Jose office.

my county is Santa Clara.

I uploaded rfe online. and it was accepted and approved by Uscis

after your fingerprints appointment how soon did they schedule you for interview?

they scheduled it on December 23 rd. the interview was yesterday and we got approved on spot! our officer told us he has approved but the website will take 24 hours to update. it was however updated in 12 hours

fingerprints were October 30
