April 7 is my new favorite day
After so many years, I can finally see the light at the end of the shit show that is the US immigration process. It took 4 different expedite requests, plus assistance from 2 congressmen, to finally receive a response from them. Timeline: PD 05/01/2019 for I-130 PD 01/03/2022 - I-495, I-765 and I-130 received 01/06/2022 - Notified that they would be using my old biometrics (I’m currently a DACA recipient) 2/16/2022 - Submitted expedite request since my current permit expires on 4/22 and my job would experience severe financial loss if I wasn’t able to work 3/14/2022 - Reached out to congressmen since I hadn’t heard back 3/22/2022 - Submitted new request since I work in the childcare field 3/26/2022 - Finally received a response from USCIS, but they used an old receipt number (for an old I-765 renewal) 3/31/2022 - Congressman received a response saying my case would be transferred for expedite processing but that they didn’t have a specific timeframe. To my surprise, 4 hours later, I received a notification from Lawfully that my case had been approved 4/4/2022 - Card was produced and received deficiency letter for my I-485 due to the medical 4/7/2022 - I-765 arrived today and to my surprise, it was a combo card 😭😭😭😭😭 A few hours later, I received the Lawfully notification that my interview has been scheduled. Unfortunately, it’s too late in the day for me to contact USCIS to ask for my interview date but holy moly what a ride it’s been. I wasn’t expecting for my I-485 to move so fast or to get a combo card - all I truly cared about was my EAD. I spent so many hours stressed, looking at this subreddit, and talking to soooo many EMMA agents, but it seems like it all paid off in the end. Let’s hope the interview goes as smoothly and I sincerely hope all your cases move along too 🤍

is your EAD renewal or fresh?
Sal SalApr 8, 2022
@rody Cham you don’t need to meet the 3 or 5 years residency requirements when in any branch of military and applying for citizenship

@Bo Zhang new EAD since it’s a different category

Hi there! thank you so much for your reply I thought childcare is only for renewal cases. so could you please Share more experiences regarding how to expedite especially the last expedited which I think is the one that worked maybe?

@Bo Zhang my guess is that the congressman’s inquiry is what pushed it through since they also submitted a letter from my employer with their request. Or perhaps USCIS made an exception to the renewal EAD since I technically do have an EAD through a different category
