you need to give at least 45 days for NVC to create a case for you. After that you can contact them for information about your case. but normally they create case within 2 weeks.

@vanilla king when was your NOA2 approved?
E. BadjieNov 10, 2024
@Nelson Muhlestein it took about two weeks to hear from NVC. While you wait you can submit your info for you DS-160. You do not need a case id number to fill it out. https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/?TSPD_101_R0=0883343043ab20009cafb1da577da03e7e39366d0ec6f8936002ac44310689b9ce9ad8288230617c08a6946d0314300046785323558fc9740ac4f0e241619ef5e6f8cc32e1dbae5b84e2e18743b6d85cbdd72de2da86c7f4277aef1a398cb946

@E. Williams Badjie the link doesn't work.
I've heard that it can take 2-6 weeks. I don't think filing out the DS160 Is a good idea until the case is in transit to the US Embassy.
E. BadjieNov 11, 2024
@Nelson Muhlestein ok. I filled mine out ahead of time with no issues.

currently taking 55-80 days in average. its really delayed right now. most recent I have seen is cases approved on sept 13th were sent to NVC on Nov 6, using that as a general time frame it'll probably be several more weeks maybe even a month or more waiting for you since yours was Oct 24

my case was approved sept 20. it was not sent to NVC until November 18. We are still awaiting the welcome letter although NVC confirmed they have received our case.

@Anali G USCIS finally sent my case to the NVC. still waiting for an update from them.
Have you gotten an update from the NVC?
Nelson MuhlesteinJan 1, 2025
@vanilla king my case was sent to the NVC December 12th. I haven't heard of the NVC has received it yet.
how did you find out that they received it? seemed like they received your case immediately.
vanilla kingJan 2, 2025
got an email saying case was created and to submit documents. 2nd Noa was on 10/3/24 in the afternoon, checked 10 pm approved in documents tab. sent documents to nvc 10/28 DQ'd 11/4 . not heard a peep since
Nelson MuhlesteinJan 6, 2025
@vanilla king NVC finally acknowledged my case after 3 weeks. They say they are still processing it into their systems. I have no idea how long that could take. I'm looking for an email everyday.
vanilla kingJan 9, 2025
that's all that you can do is wait. got an email from nvc saying that they created new case ID and changed the interview location to another country day after xmas. AFTER 2 months waiting for interview appointment where nvc originally said it would be. AND original embassy DIDN'T do ir1 interviews. screwed out of 2 months I guess and who knows how long it's going to be. they don't post wait times for immigrant visa. whole process is f@$ked up
Nelson MuhlesteinJan 9, 2025
@vanilla king I'm sorry that you've been waiting so long. I believe wait times depend on how busy the US embassy is.
certain countries take a very long time.
