API update and estimated process time increase
EB1-C case filed in April 2025, biometrics done in May, AP and EAD approved in June (premium processing, concurrent filing).
Case is silent since May without any update (over 200 days). Last week there was a silent API update, and estimated process time changed from 4 months to 7 months.
Not sure how to interpret this. Normally, a silent API update is interpreted as a positive sign that someone is working on the case. I also noticed 3 similar cases filed on the same month were approved today, which is also a positive sign.
But the increase in the estimated processing time seems a contradictory signal. Any idea what does it mean?

Thank you! the update was between 9-4. I just chatted with Emma, they say the case was transferred to a field office. I’m taking it as a good sign and crossing my fingers.

Thans @Alloof Easy I didn’t know the time of the update was relevant

I am EB1-A and waiting since May as well. Case was transferred to field office a week ago for me too and processing time went to 10 months from 7. As I know estimated processing time is not reliable at all. My EAD was approved in 2 months and there was written that estimate is 13 months.

most people from May to July got the ghost update last week and their cases were moved to field offices. it's normal for the processing time to reset in a case was moved to field office. however the processing time on your account is of no use in the whole process

how are you guys able to check the API update? Is there anything other than case status that gives info on silent updates
A BDec 3, 2025
@T O there’s a way to check if an USCIS officer worked on your case. You can google uscis api updates, and you should find decent explanation on Reddit or chats here in Lawfully
