You get C31 after Vawa approval you should have applied for C09 which used to take 5months and close to a year now. it's not too late you can apply for CO9 if you want to.

nope my lawyer selected c09 and I received receipt from uscis and it says category c31

yes, it’s normal for c31 because it comes from your vawa approval. you should apply for c9.

The same thing happened to me; they requested the C31 form, and I've been waiting for over a year. I only recently requested the C09 form because they didn't request the correct one initially.

did you submit your I-485 application? C09 is under the I-485. if you only submit I-360 you cannot submit c09. someone correct me if I am wrong.

C09 is only available when you have a current priority date. So, If you married to a green card holder, you can't get C09.

@Riri Riri my lawyer sent the whole package with I-360 ( green card, work authorization and travel permit ) they sent my travel permit to different city 2 years and not correcting and re sending me new one despite so much service request made by my lawyers. they are cooking me on purpose as if I wasn’t cooked enough by my abuser.

I’ve called the uscis and spoken to tier 2 officer and requested expedite request due to financial hardship I mean I was literally cooking him in the phone call? I’m close to deadline of VAWA time line like make it make sense? 3.5 years how am I not supposed to expedite my case due to financial hardship as if I’ve got a sugar daddy funding my life? he was nervous and told me he’s gonna forward my case and situation and have the SCOPS call me directly if they need more evidence. because honestly I’m tired of this. I’m losing my child bearing age, 3.5 years I’ve been living off of my friends money and house.

just be patient… trust me you will get through I did not receive a prima facie and my case got approved the I-360

@Ayoosh do you have your receipt notice for your I-765 you should see the category on it. if it’s C09 or C31. if it shows C31, I would recommend you apply again for C09.

@Riri Riri it’s c31 I applied for c09 in 2024 they didn’t respond. I have sent several inquiries they are not responding to my mails or service request.

@Riri Riri so e-request and service request are two different things. tier 2 officer booked and info pass appointment for me at the federal plaza and asked me to explain my situation but the officers at the building said they don’t have my file in their department so they can’t help me and since my case is sensitive I have to call the uscis to make a service request ( which means the tier 2 officer make an inquiry about my case internally with the department that’s handling my case) so I guess I’m expecting a call soon from that department if they require any evidence needed to expedite my case because I got one hell if proof of financial debts and housing instability for the last 3.5 years.

I am asked to leave my friends house in January and Ramadan starts in February I’m going to be homeless and in streets. at least god have mercy on me.

@Ayoosh hope your lawyer didn’t send your application to the wrong location or uscis lost it. I would go ahead and apply again while waiting for them to return your call.
