Anyone knows L1A renewal timelines ? pls share & help !
Hi everyone , my L1A visa expires in May 2024.
My company plans on starting the renewals process in Oct / Nov of this year ( ~ 6 months prior to expiry ). They said 6 months is sufficient advance timing but I wanted to check here if anyone has recent actual experience on time taking for renewal. I also plan to go to India in Dec for a month so hopefully that doesn’t complicate things as well ! ( not too worried about AP cause my visa is multiple entry )

6 months should be fine ..you might need attach recent I94..you can very well once returned can apply ..now days comparatively extensions are approved quickly ..my last year experiance ..mine was expeibg in july 22 applied in June 22 got the approval in August 22. safer side you can apply post your return .

check what your visa expiry date, my was 1 year earlier before actual I-94 expiry date, which means I am legally allowed to continue work till end of I -94 end date, and renew L1A before that, but I couldn’t travel abroad without a new visa stamp on my passport. To answer your question, 6 months should be fine, that was what my company and lawyer suggested as well, though I did not needed it as i got H1-B earlier first ( I decided to keep H1-B because i have my 140 approved at that time)
