Anyone applied for naturalization?
Hi All, I am currently eligible for naturalization while my I-751 is still under rocessing. Debating if I want to apply for naturalization and renouncing my Indian citizenship. what are the pros and cons for renouncing Indian citizenship? Do i have to go through a lawyer or apply by myself? how hard it is to apply? Thanks in advence!

there’s no such thing as “renouncing” your citizenship. its called duo citizenship. you will be a citizen of both countries

@sky high some countries don’t allow you to be dual… not sure if that’s true for India

@S D did you get a decision on your I-751? or you applied for N-400. its 500 days now for my I-751 at Vermont (Apr 2025 filing). No updates besides 48 month extension letter and reuse of biometrics.

I feel if you ever have plans to get naturalized better sooner than later. you never know what type of new rule might hurt you in future @Jee Wah
