Hey Guys so I had posted this a while back but now that my interview is only a few days away I’m a bit nervous and figured post again and see if anyone has a similar experience.
When I was 17 I got arrested for shoplifting and the case was dismissed. I did disclose this to Uscis and mailed the deposition paper along with application. I’m only nervous because it was so long ago and I’m concerned they will hold it against me. I’ve never had any other authority involvement and it’s been almost 20 years.
Anyone else had an arrest and have gone through the interview? How was it?

It was dismissed. Nothing to be nervous about. Even if it wasn't, shoplifting will be a misdemeanor and not in the category of a criminal case that should worry you. That being said, who is the citizen? you or your spouse?

Don't be nervous. Everything will be fine! They wouldn't have approved your case and invited you to an interview, would they just want to deny you! You made it to that point and all that is a good sign! My husband also has a minor criminal record from his teenagehood and we were so afraid about that, but our lawyer just said, that's not a big deal and not what USCIS is concerned about. So just concentrate at the interview on the positive! They just want to know at that point if it's bona fide, the rest they checked already in the background and approved you!

@Rik K-G hi! it was super quick. The officer was very nice and asked simple questions about our marriage, they did ask about my arrest but it was just asking me what happened. They scanned some pictures I brought and some more documents to support my bonafide marriage and then we were able to go. She said to wait a few weeks for the decision on my application.
