And This Is Why!
As I mentioned a long time ago, priority processing for EB2-NIW IS NOT!!!
“about having peace of mind” or
“thinking it will be useful only if my priority date is current”.
> The reality is that the main purpose of priority processing today is to provide a response and establish a priority date as quickly as possible.
• If we receive a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a denial, we will have an opportunity to address the situation promptly.
As you may have already noticed, waiting times are increasing, denials are on the rise, and no one knows how things will unfold.
The only tool we have to expedite these responses, the only Variable in our Hands!, is through priority processing.
PLEASE remember and convey this to everyone: priority processing is not only for those with current status. It’s important to recognize that NIW may not be available for concurrent filing and might never be again.
What matters is that priority processing ensures we receive a quicker answer and a DATE!, places us in line, and prepares us for the next steps.

i think everyone who is filing nowadays is going to premium processing, waiting time is insane, different story for those who filed back in 2023, i remember Nebraska was adjudicating i140 in 6 months, and pp was a few days. so many of us didn't use pp hoping the processing time remains steady. I personally do not think it's worth to file pp for those who already have >450 days in the system. that being said If I knen my 140 would have taken ~500 days to get approved I would definitely bite the bullet and did pp at day one.

@Kar NIW i140-Nov 2023’ what do you mean by NIW might never be current again

@f c For concurrent filing (I'll make the correction), I meant to say that it's very likely, due to the backlog, we won't be able to file for immediate Adjustment of Status (AOS) or consular processing (like with EB1, for instance) ever again. Additionally, the time between filing the I-140 and the I-485 processes will likely continue to increase, mostly.

@Anto A
The longer you wait (400, 500 days, etc), the more urgent it becomes to take action. Every day, the backlog increases. If your I-140 is denied and you refile in (X) months or even late 2025 or 2026, you’ll face an even longer timeline compared to if you filed or upgraded now to get your adjudication and Priority Date.
Premium Processing is not just about speed; it’s also about control. It prevents the clock from working against you. In today’s climate, waiting even one extra day is not neutral; it’s a liability especially, God forbid, if you receive a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a denial.
