American citizen
Became an American citizen two weeks ago. My green card was approved a year ago. Enlisted in the military as a Reservist. Applied for naturalization. The rest is history — A United States Citizen!

@N E congrats !!! that what I’m planning on doing as soon as I get my green card! Which branch did you join and how was enlistment process?
Mona A.Feb 20, 2024
wait!! if you join the military with GC you can apply for citizenship after 1 year?
and away from the citizenship how did you get all your other application fast tracked? is your proposed endeavor related to military too?
Stani KFeb 20, 2024
@Mona A. you can apply as soon as you finish your boot camp. You have free military lawyers that speed up all immigration questions specifically citizenship.

@Stani K thank you. I didnt know you can join military without being citizen. what is ths boot camp? any keywords that I can put in google search to start this program?
Stani KFeb 20, 2024

you are lucky

@Mona A. You can join the military with a green card. You don’t have to be a citizen. I actually became a citizen during boot camp (also called Basic Training). The military assists with all the naturalization paperwork while I was in training, and I became a citizen before the training ended.
Apart from the citizenship, I was very lucky to get my other application approved in record time. No, my endeavor was not related to military
