Alhamdulilah. Verily After Every Hardship comes Ease
Here’s my timeline guys. I will be happy to answer all and every question you have. I will also be happy to help put a case together if anyone needs help. Allah has shown me mercy and given me another shot at life. My story is long but God told me never to despair. He said He will see me through. God is indeed the greatest. Allahu Akbar.

@sweet lins filed everything together including 485 and 765. I got 2 RFE. the first for fbi check and the second was the tough one. the officer needed further proof of cohabitation, proof of valid marriage, and further proof of abuse. they also asked for evidence that the abuser was the one texting me, so I had to reveal the phone number. they asked me to explain the abuse and relationship more in my statement. they asked for tax transcript, bank statement since we got married cos the one I sent was from a recent date and only shows my income. I had to go get statement from our closed bank account and explained why it was closed. I had to make a photo album and described all the events from when we met. I had seen a psychologist and I had included the report which they said was okay, but after filing VAWA, I still sort help from an NGO for years and that NGO provided a letter and my case file to the USCIS. I also included 5 affidavits from people who are aware of the abuse. Just to put this out there, I immediately changed my attorney when I got the RFE. My old attorney was too lackadaisical for my liking and I had to go pay another $6500 to a tough Attorney. Despite that, I did 80% of the work myself. I spent over 30 day’s gathering evidence and staying up at night. I wrote and rewrote my affidavit to make sure it reads like a best seller despite the emotional trauma the recollection was causing me. at some point I suffered bouts of depression whilst replying to the RFE. I had to put on my lawyers cap and addressed everything myself. I even made sure I reviewed the documents before it was submitted. I made it clear to the attornies that I was also a lawyer and I needed to vet the documents before they were dispatched. The lawyers merely put the documents and evidence together and wrote a well crafted cover letter. I submitted my response end of March and today Alhamdulilah I got approved.

@Mac Fredrick pls how do I change my lawyer because she is too slow and not taking action what should I send to the uscis to change my lawyer
Mac FredrickMay 9, 2023
@kiki macdon if your case has been filed and you are only waiting for a response, not sure it would make sense to change your Attorney. if however you need to respond to an RFE and you’re unsure that your Attorney can handle it the way you want, just look for another lawyer of your choice and they will file a G35(or something) on your behalf and that should be fine.
