I had my interview on Monday also, still waiting the officer was very nice to us.

@B P I don't mean to scare you but for you guys to have a Stokes interview on your first they suspected some foul play , however they are not always accurate . But if there was no discrepancies in answers given by both of you and you were able to provide reasonable amount of documents you should be fine. Let's pray your case gets approved fast🙏

i don’t know they made my wife sign three times and the officer didn’t said anything after the interview not even that he is gonna review it.

@a k What exactly did what she signed read? Did you have a lawyer with you?

@Rocco Forté it was paper with three lines to sign and the officer said that it was to match the sign on i-130. we went without the lawyer.

@a k Oh yea. Them doing a stokes interview for you for your first interview is an indication that they think your marriage is fake. Them asking your spouse to sign three times means they think she didn’t sign the forms you submitted. They won’t have tried that nonsense if you had a lawyer in the room

@a k There are pro bono immigration lawyers that can help. Do your research. Did your answers match in the stokes interview.

@Rocco Forté no some of the answers didn’t match but we tried to explain why was it answered differently but the officer didn’t responded and at the end he said nothing.

I had my interview today (I’ll post update tomorrow) but my lawyer said in his 34 years of practicing, it’s the most intense interview he’s ever seen… Nearly everyone before us had been separated so we knew we were going to be separated. Lo and behold we were, and she was rough. we managed to sail through tho. 2 hours after interview I-130 changed to actively reviewing. checked sponsors account and approval as under document. she told us she has no doubt our marriage is legit and that I’ll get my card in 2-3 weeks and that it’s gonna be conditional so I’ll have to do removal of condition.. Always assume your interview is going to be stokes. we made that assumption and it kinda saved us.

@Rocco Forté I disagree somehow that getting stokes on your first interview indicates fraud. My observation is USCIS is jacked up at the moment. they’re trying to clear their shelves. so they don’t have the time for first, then second interviews. they’ve switched to conducting stokes on first interviews just so they’ll save time. It took 47 days from when my interview was scheduled to when i went in. do you think they have available slots to just do first and second interviews. Of course getting an interview at a time when they’re waiving interviews here and there means there’s something about your case that they do not like. nonetheless it’s not always about fraud. I’ve seen people with approved 130 and visa overstay. they needed to go in to clarify things. My lawyer asked the officer why she did a stoke interview. “ she said a lot of fraud these days so they’ve also changed their protocols whiles also working to clear the backlogs…

I was in the room for almost 1 hour and my wife (citizen) for barely 15 minutes — we’ve been married for almost 3 years, I’m hoping I’ll get a 10 year GC. Do you guys think that the interview was separated because of that too? So they would investigate further?

@Quagmire . Stokes interview literally means fraud interview Lool. Anybody that goes through stokes interview means there is reasonable suspicion of marriage/immigration fraud. it is your performance at that interview that determines if they change their minds or double down on the fraud investigation. That’s why some people get approved after a stokes interview (personal experience) or they get a home visit and or notice of intent to deny.

I don’t disagree entirely!!! I’m only saying it has come to include other things too. like time cutting tool !!!
