Advice on what to do
Have not gotten a single update on our case since we submitted in September of 2023. The day after submitting, we were notified that they were “actively reviewing” our case. since then, nothing. we’ve reached out to the governor and have a lawyer that requested information on our case. Both came back with no information. basically just saying it was “taking longer than expected”. they have yet to even look at our case. We filed standalone I-130 going through consular processing, my husband is from Spain. I feel like this is not normal, but unsure of what else to do at this point. Otherwise, we have to wait until September of this year (2+ years after filing) to even ask USCIS for an update on our case. Any advice and is anyone in the same situation?

@zaki mohas I meant to say we have reached out to the congressman a few months ago and they tried to get an update. All they said is it was processing normally and don’t contact them again for 90 days :( Is there someone else we can reach out to?

@Larry and Daniela Giles 🇦🇴🇺🇸❤️ I’m sorry, but it’s good to know we’re not alone. It’s hard seeing so many get approved that filed way after we did :(

that’s so frustrating… we’re 11/28/2023 Texas Service Center. We reached out to our congresswoman and their office said to wait another month first before contacting them again. Then they will reach out to USCIS on our behalf.

I’m in same situation as you. I filed October 2023 and up till now nothing. my wife contacted congressman yet they came back with no information and said our case is processing normally. it’s depressing seeing cases that you filed wayyyy before getting approved. it feels like we’re just stuck but I’m hopeful that one day we’ll get approval
