Advance Parole experience
Hi family. I have a quick question. I traveled with my Advance Parole in April. I came back through JFK. I was directed to the secondary inspection to stamp my passport. When I got there, the officer called me and started asking me some questions like ‘The name of my spouse, date of birth and how we met ? if I was divorce and when? Which I provided her the answers and she was typing on the system and I was like was she actually typing my response on the system? she then finally asked for my address which I gave her and was typing as I was telling her my address. I almost couldn’t remember the answers due to the shock and I didn’t expect those questions at all. My question is what do you guys thinks she could be typing? Are they allowed to ask us those kind of questions? Would what she was typing affects me or has a impact in me using my AP in the future? She stamped my passport and let me go though. Whay are your thoughts about this? Thank you family.

As it is written on the parole, ...it is not a guaranteed entry, so they have the right to ask you questions.....your answers should be short and simple....as long as you don't have a criminal record, you will be good to go

I was asked the same questions and what’s more, a Black male officer asked me at least 30 questions in a loud voice. He didn’t even make eye contact with me. It was around midnight.

The same thing happened to me last year in june at JFK. It was a nightmare for me. It was a Mexican officer in the secondary inspection who asked me lots of questions without any sense in a rude way. Remember always guys An immigrant is an immigrant's biggest enemy.

I had a similar experience, I was not asked any of the questions but I saw someone getting interviewed the same way you are describing it. It was scary, if you travel again be prepare and some of the questions are simple information that someone that was in a relationship should know but like you said sometimes fear gets the best of us. pray to god!

I came back end of last year with my green card and extension letter with my husband which is an IS citizen. The officer asked us a bunch of questions (ALSO AN IMMIGRANT). I thought that was a nightmare until I read online that they can ask anything. at the end, my elderly mom was with us in the same line and he asked her a very personal question, that was very uncomfortable.
