Administrative Processing 221g
I have an approved I-140 petition under EB-2 NIW, PD July 2021, and went for my interview at the Singapore Consulate in May 2023. My case was placed in Administrative processing 221g after the interview and has remained in this status since.
Anyone else in a similar position? Any idea how long it takes to clear administrative processing? If it matters, I am a physician and scientist. #221g #administrativeprocessing #singapore

A 221g has two scenario’s. Either your visa was refused or you needed more documentation to establish your eligibility for a visa

I received 221g when I interviewed for the H1B. it was kind of a background check.
I would not be too worried. just waiting game.

interview was easy. just asked about my educational history and publication history. was told verbally that my visa would be approved and passport was kept. but shortly after I received an email informing me my case was placed into administrative processing.
