RFE 944 for parent doing AOS (no education history & not working now)
I am doing AOS for my parent and they already did biometrics BUT we received an RFE for 944 1. my parent doesn’t have much education history(no high school) will this cause her case to be rejected? 2. she has no health insurance now but was planning to get it after GC, should we apply for health insurance from now so we can include in RFE response? 3. how much assets / cash value is uscis looking for to approve RFE?( my parent isn’t working now because no EAD) please advise #485 #944 #i-944

what is your timeline? Biden may repeal the public charge rule and you may not have to file i944. wait for a bit if you have not already filed. if u have already filed or must file right away, speak the truth and hope for the best. I do not believe they are looking for a target number for cash value or assets. They are looking for a convincing account that the immigrant will not be on public charge

(2) They're are some forums discussing cheap health insurance plans. Or consider putting her under your current insurance plan. (3) I believe there's somewhere you could put your asset as the household count for her. So once you're over the minimum for your current household, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

not having a credit card and/or any credit history is not uncommon for new immigrants. I tend to agree with Kiz. I think you should be ok

I also read that you can call to get a letter saying that you don't have a credit history not credit score. never tried it before but perhaps you can research on that if you want to play safer

I also didnt have credit history so I wrote the letter myself signed and dated. Said credit agencies in the US are unable to generate report under my name because no loans or credit cards. I think it’s pretty common if you just moved to US so it should be ok
