601a citizenship or permanent resident ?
Hello. I am applying for 601a as a permanent resident spouse. You can now apply for citizenship. I am wondering if applying for citizenship and becoming a citizen will help my 601a case. If not, please answer whether there are any major problems applying for 601a as the spouse of a permanent resident. The lawyer said it doesn't matter whether it's citizenship or permanent residency. My lawyer says documentation is important.

@hd c If you are not a resident you cannot jump to us citizen. Also, the i-601A is for unlawful presence. You need to do a lot of homework on your immigration because and what a i-601A is for. Honestly I don't really understand your post, are you a resident applying for i-601A or ? If so, why?

@hd c Ok, I get what you are saying now. you're asking if becoming a us citizen since now you are eligible will speed up your wife's i-601A? if you are now eligible for USC then by all means please apply and hopefully you become a US citizen. It may not help with processing the waiver but it may help with the NVC process. Since you are a resident petitioning for your wife there is a limited number of visas. There are no limits for USC. So apply now!
