485 interview
Hi everyone,
My VAWA (I-360) was approved, and I recently received an interview notice for my I-485.
The interview is scheduled together with my 14-year-old son (derivative applicant).
I was wondering if anyone here has had experience attending an I-485 interview with a child after VAWA approval.
If so, could you please share:
• What kinds of questions were asked during the interview?
• Were there any questions directed to your child, and if so, what were they like?
• Did the officer mostly speak to the parent, or to both?
Any shared experiences or insights would be greatly appreciated.

I would advise that your ask your lawyer to give you a copy of your I-845 so that you can very carefully read and remember every information you provided when the document was filed. Also, remember some information from your Vawa questions could come.

@D T I filled my Vawa in Feburay 2022 and it approved in September 2025.

congratulations my vawa was approved on 2023 so my interview was march 2024 so basically
they ask about you background
questions in your application basic questions like how you entry to USA, address, employment, they never ask me about my vawa case and abuser.

@The only one Thank you. I don’t even think about the abuser anymore. Do I have to prepare the marriage certificate or divorce documents for the interview?
