After 765 approval yesterday, 485 also changed to new card is produced! 131 is still at case received but I probably won't be needing that anymore

I wonder why they issue the I-765 if two days after they will approve I-485. I mean, it is great to have 485 approved that fast but wondering why not just skip the 765. Any idea?

@Chris G I also got surprised because there are several cases when i765 had been held for 6 months because in initial adjudication they thought 485 approval is imminent. these days, it is crazy. I do not trust their status update as well. I recently got case approved notice after getting new card produced message (I765)

@d s yes, I got the "Case was approved" after "New card is being produced" for each of my family members. Only the I485's remain in "Biometrics" since July 10.

@Chris G my physical green card arrived earlier than my EAD card 😂 also the 485 approval notice arrived after I received the physical card 😂 not complaining but the arrival order is weird
