3/3/26 interview experience
I went to the interview today at Brooklyn USCIS in NYC. it was very brief. the staff were pretty nice from begining to the end. we greeted each other with a smile and then I said I was nervous on my way to his office. he said there’s nothing to worry about, and that he reviewed my case prior to the interview. after i sat down, he asked for medical exam. then verify my current address. asked if my answers on the i485 were truthful. then he stamped the Approval on document. i signed, did fingerprints and took a picture. then he congratulated me, and joked “you didn’t think it would be this easy”, i laughed and teared up at the same time, then he walked me out. That’s it. The total time spent was probably 10-12min max. I am still in shock how simple and straightforward it was. I am still grateful to my lawyer to make sure I brought like 2lbs of documents tho. Also thankful to have such nice officer. I thank God for listening to my prayers and seeing my hardworks. I wish everyone the best luck. Your time will come as long as you do the right thing. **sorry about the no caps, my phone is acting up badly**

@Lou A congrats. did you use your EAD after filing i485 and also continued F1?

@N M thank you. So while waiting for the EAD to be approved, I enrolled in bachelor degree, did 1 semester. Once the EAD approved, I quit f1. they did asked for RFE to prove my F1 status from the beginning until the end of OPT. For that, I submitted all I20s along with the enrollment letter/class schedule and tuition receipt. PLEASE BE MINDFUL. It was a big leaf of faith that I quit f1 thinking i would be approved soon. Cuz my PD was current for awhile before getting retrogressed. My lawyer and employer did advice me to continue f1 until i get approved.

@AA N yes i am a RN schedule A. Same employer since OPT started until approval. Did you mean that your employer’s location change or your location change? I have never changed my location either. And I believe it helps a lot when everything on profile stays the same.
