2 Year or 10 year green card ?
Can someone please clarify will I get 2 year or 10 year green card if I get approved right exactly on the date of 2nd anniversary? (Usually i see cases got approved AFTER 2nd anniversary then get 10 year green card)
Plus the decision to issue 2 year green card or 10 year green card is based on i-130 approval or i-485 approval? Since most of the time they are not approved at the same time.

@Isveiry Belen Tineo you are wrong. @James LL 2 years and above you get issued 10 years green card. the decision to issue 2 years or 10 years green card is based on how long you have been married for

2-year Green Cards are conditional resident cards that are applied in situations of marriage or employment. 10-year Green Cards are permanent resident cards that can be acquired after the marriage has lasted two years and have proved the legitimacy of their marriage through evidence.

@child of grace thanks. what if my i-30 got approved before 2nd anniversary and i-485 got approved after 2nd anniversary? in this case i will get 10 years right ?
child of graceJun 6, 2024
@James LL yes you will get 10 years in that case. as long as your green card (I-485) is approved on or after 2 years of marriage.

@Isveiry Belen Tineo - You should edit your initial comment because itβs incorrect. Marriage 2 years and up = 10 year green card not 3 years and up π

I know someone who got approved JUST ONE DAY TO 2ND ANNIVERSARY he was given 2yrs. but at exactly 2 years will be at the discression of the officer because 10yrs is to be given AFTER 2YEARS OF MARRIAGE
BAYANO PARKERJun 6, 2024
@child of grace marriage is based on the I-130 and not the I-485. If I130 is approved before the 2nd year anniversary, you will have the conditional no matter how long the I485 will be approved. I130 is to show the marriage is legitimate and not the I485.

@Singh USA πΊπΈ you can add as much as evidences unto the "Unsolicited" to boost your case. You do not have to wait. But be careful not to send also too much.

@Singh USA πΊπΈ you don't want your application to be too bulky... They will not look at everything so you have to know the pinpoint evidences. LESS IS MORE
