I was in a similar situation — CR1, PD Jan 26, 2024, and my case sat untouched for 17 months at California. No updates, no RFEs — just silence. What helped me was reaching out to USCIS via live chat (Emma on their website) and asking very specific questions, not general status updates. Here's what I asked: 1. Which service center is currently processing my case? 2. Is my case in background or security check? 3. Are there any notes about delays or reviews on the file? They gave a generic response at first, saying it was still within normal processing time — but those questions get logged on your case file, and I suspect that triggered something. Less than 24 hours after that chat, my case was approved. I can’t say for sure the message caused it, but the timing was too close to ignore. If your case has been stuck since January with no movement, I’d recommend trying the same approach. Calm, direct questions that show you’re tracking.
