Trump administration issues pause on immigrant visa appointments for applicants worldwide. guys check the news
knsg Faith smaller than a mustard seed🙌Aug 31, 2026
TAKE A READ Yes — there *is a pause on visa appointments right now* from the Trump administration. *What happened:* 1. *Global pause on visa appointments*: On Aug 25, 2026 the State Department said it launched a "global training initiative" at all US embassies and consulates. Because of that, visa service appointments are being adjusted/rescheduled. 2. *Who got emails*: Immigrant visa applicants with scheduled interviews got emails saying their appointments were cancelled and will be rescheduled later. New dates are not given yet. 3. *Reason given*: Training to help consular officers screen applicants for "public charge" risk + evaluate applicants "comprehensively and consistently". *Important details:* - *Immigrant visas are affected* - this is for green card cases, spouses, family, work-sponsored, etc. - *Non-immigrant visas* like tourist B1/B2, student F1, and work visas are _not supposed to be affected_ by this specific pause. - *No timeline yet*: State Dept did not say when interviews will resume or when fresh appointments open. *This is separate from the Jan 2026 thing* Back in January 2026 they also tried to suspend immigrant visa processing for 75 countries, but a US judge struck that down on Aug 21 saying it exceeded authority. This new Aug 2026 pause is about training + rescheduling appointments worldwide, not a country ban. *For you with F2A/Consular Processing*: If you had an interview scheduled at Port of Spain, it likely got postponed. Watch your email from NVC/embassy for the new date. Want me to check if Port of Spain specifically posted anything about rescheduling?

@Chiangie chi If you haven't received the welcome email from NVC for too long, you can sent e-mail to NVC and ask them the case number
