How does it work when you have a death in the family while your greencard pending. I asked to be scheduled and appointment for urgent expedite and I’m scheduled to get a call back within 72 hrs.
Anyone else been through this??

Sorry for your loss. Assuming you filed form I-131 with your application you should get all the necessary documents together to prove that you a have death in your family; death certificate, funeral arrangements, your birth certificate, the person that died birth certificate ( the is to show relation), a letter from the funeral parlor if possible and submit when they request it. you will be granted an advanced parole document to use for travel if your evidence is convincing enough. I also had a death in my family and this is what I did. I got approved very quickly and was able to attend my aunts funeral. All the best to you!

@god bless oh wow. they called me today and sent over my expedite inquiry to NBC. I’m waiting to see what they’ll ask for when they respond.

They didn’t ask me for specific documents. Just try to get as much proof together so that when they send you the email you will have your evidence to fax to them.
