Absolutely no USCIS officer will deny you SOLELY because you are not working for your employer before greencard, it is illegal! Agents and their lawyers telling you otherwise are using y'all heads

Only thing those agents/lawyers will tell is that it shows good faith that you truly want to work with your employer... that's all If USCIS ever asks for evidence you still have a valid job offer and you are not working with your employer, a signed I485J by your employer confirming you still have a valid offer with them will suffice... you could go beyond and get another letter from your employer to explain you will be resuming once you get your greencard Do not fall for agents trying to use you as pawns
