work permit and ssn
I was outside of US for a while, now I am back, I have unrestricted ssn, but my EAD is expired, can I work or I need to renew my EAD first? I don’t have a green card
yet.

No you don’t need to renew it. You can provide your SSN as I-9 document for employment verification
